Staff Accountant

This role is responsible for learning and applying technical skills and working as part of a team to carry out tasks under close coaching and supervision.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develops an understanding of the business and the Staff Accountant role
  • Develops technical skills both on the job and through formal learning channels
  • Prepares individual, business, and personal property tax returns
  • Performs compilation, review, and audit engagements
  • Works as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks
  • Builds working relationships at the peer client level
  • Seeks to gain knowledge of client businesses and industries
  • Effectively documents work
  • Identifies task issues as well as task progress in a timely and organized manner
  • Actively pursues self-development opportunities
  • Builds strong team relationship skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Tax Supervisor

The Tax Supervisor is responsible for organizing and managing client assignments and projects including the completion of assignment tasks and project components as well as coaching, advising, and directing team members in meeting client, and self-development expectations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise client tax engagements, including engagement planning, directing and completion of assigned tax projects
  • Supervise, mentor and train tax associates on assigned tax projects
  • Review client tax returns and make necessary recommendations regarding accuracy and pertinent tax savings opportunities
  • Prepare client tax returns for more complex individual, trust, corporate, partnership and S Corporation tax clients
  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities in a timely manner
  • Generate and edit memoranda, correspondence and other client deliverables as necessary
  • Research and consult with management on client-related tax matters
  • Participate in business development and networking events on behalf of the firm
  • Perform other duties assigned or required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 8-12 years public accounting experience
  • CPA or sitting for CPA exam required
  • Previous tax preparation experience required
  • Capable of leading client tax projects and supervising other tax staff
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong computer software skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Prosystem Engagement, CCH Axcess and RIA Checkpoint

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for organizing and managing client assignments and projects including the completion of assignment tasks and project components as well as coaching, advising, and directing team members in meeting client, and self-development expectations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan and lead various assurance engagements
  • Review and prepare financial statements, workpapers and other engagement documents
  • Prepare client tax returns for more complex individual, corporate, partnership and S Corporation tax clients
  • Analyze financial reports and tax returns
  • Assist the accounting manager in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for managers and executives
  • Research and consult with management on client-related assurance and tax matters
  • Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting team
  • Supervise, mentor and train accounting staff
  • Provide timely client service
  • Participate in business development and networking events on behalf of the firm

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3-5 years public accounting experience
  • CPA or sitting for CPA exam required
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong computer software skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Prosystem Engagement, CCH Axcess and RIA Checkpoint
